Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of exceltranslator.xyz (the "Site"), operated by Excel Translator. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Use of the site

Excel Translator grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Site for personal, educational, and lawful business purposes, subject to these Terms.

You agree NOT to:

  • Scrape, copy, or republish substantial portions of the Site's content without written permission
  • Use automated systems to access the Site in a way that exceeds reasonable human use
  • Attempt to circumvent any access or security measures
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Site beyond what is permitted by applicable law
  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or to violate the rights of others
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site's operation
  • Submit malicious code, spam, or harmful content via any form on the Site

2. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — text, graphics, logos, code, formula explanations, lint rules, and arrangements — is the property of Excel Translator or its content contributors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

"Excel Translator" and the Excel Translator logo are trademarks of Excel Translator. "Microsoft" and "Excel" are registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation; Excel Translator is not affiliated with Microsoft.

2.1 Permitted use of formulas and code snippets

The individual Excel formulas shown on the Site (e.g. =SUM(A1:A10)) are not subject to copyright as they are short functional expressions. You may freely copy and use any formula shown on the Site in your own workbooks without attribution.

2.2 Attribution for longer content

If you reference our written explanations in your own work (article, video, course material), please link back to the source page on Excel Translator. We do not require this for short snippets but appreciate attribution for substantial passages.

3. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and its content are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement.

We do our best to keep formulas and explanations accurate, but Excel changes, bugs slip through, and best practices evolve. Always test formulas in your own context before relying on them for critical decisions. See our Disclaimer for more.

4. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Excel Translator, its operators, contributors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to lost profits, data loss, business interruption, or damaged spreadsheets — arising from your use of the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

If any of the above limitations are unenforceable in your jurisdiction, our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Site shall not exceed USD 100.

5. Third-party content and links

The Site may contain links to third-party websites (Microsoft documentation, Stack Overflow, GitHub, etc.) and may display third-party advertising via Google AdSense. We do not control these third parties, do not endorse their content, and are not responsible for their privacy practices. You access them at your own risk.

6. User submissions

If you submit content to us (via the contact form, email, or otherwise — e.g. a suggested correction, formula, or use case), you grant Excel Translator a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence to use, modify, and publish that submission for the purpose of operating and improving the Site. You retain ownership of your submission.

Do not submit confidential information through the contact form — it is not encrypted in transit beyond standard email security.

7. Changes to the site and these terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms — material changes will be flagged at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, without notice, for conduct we reasonably believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

9. Governing law and disputes

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Excel Translator is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where prohibited by mandatory consumer-protection laws.

10. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

11. Entire agreement

These Terms — together with the Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and Disclaimer — constitute the entire agreement between you and Excel Translator regarding the Site, superseding any prior agreements.
